In order to promote creative expression in youth in Grades 6-12, InScribe holds an annual Gem writing contest. Entrants are invited to submit entries in one or more of the following categories: Story, Personal Essay, and Poetry.
The contest entry fee entitles the contestant to a one-year InScribe Gem membership (with parental consent) which includes:
- eligibility to enter contests like this one as well as the annual Fall Contest
- a PDF copy of InScribe’s quarterly magazine, FellowScript
- the possibility of publication in FellowScript or on InScribe’s online writers’ blog
- mentoring and encouragement from other Canadian Christian writers (including detailed evaluation of their submission(s) by experienced Contest Judges)
- a reduced entry fee to the Fall Conference
For further information, please refer to the Submission Guidelines and Style Guidelines and the Scoring Rubrics. (Story, Essay, Poetry)
This is an excellent opportunity for students from Christian families, whether attending public school, private school, or homeschool.
We are excited to nurture young creatives!
AI Guidelines
InScribe Christian Writers’ Fellowship exists to support and encourage Christian writers in the advancement of their writing. We value integrity, creativity, and the craft of writing. We accept the use and value of AI tools that help with grammar, punctuation, and spelling. However, ICWF does not accept work created (in whole or in part) using Artificial Intelligence (AI) generated text. All submissions to InScribe publications and contests must be the writer’s original work.
