Hello!
My name is Mary Haskett.

 About me

I was born in England in 1934. My mother, a married woman, had an affair and I came from that union. You can read my unusual story in my book Reverend Mothers Daughter.

I came to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ soon after arriving in Canada in 1975. Coming out of the darkness into His marvelous light revolutionized my life.

My first husband left me many years ago. I remarried to my dear husband Allan in 2002 and we live in London, Ontario. I have four children, Michael, David, Christopher and Daniela, two step-daughters, three daughters-in-law, two stepsons and five grandchildren, all of whom I love dearly.

  Endorsements and Affirmations

“An obviously gifted story-teller, Mary writes this riveting account of her own life with heart-warming honesty, charming humor, and great doses of grace. In all of it—her birth in unusual circumstances, her childhood joys and struggles in war-torn England, her great loves and painful disappointments, and her inspiring walk with her Best Friend--there is never a dull moment. Mary has given us a great treasure: A beautiful story, beautifully told.”

~ Fay Rowe (What’s in a Name, Word Alive Press, 2007; Finalist: Word Alive Press - New Author Contest, 2006; Finalist, The Word Guild Best New Canadian Author Contest, 2005; Contributing Author: I’ll Be Home for Christmas, Xulon Press, 2005; Keepers of the Testimony, to be released Fall, 2007.)

“The story of Mary Haskett’s life is a captivating one. Her book is difficult to put down. I found myself there, in war time, sharing the experiences and the people along side her; an excellent and truly inspiring book!”

~ Donna Fawcett (Thriving in the Home School and the Donna Dawson novels Redeemed and The Adam & Eve Project)

“Mary Haskett tells a story of brokenness -- scandal, violation, betrayal -- the pain of being human that touches us all. But hers, and ours, is also a story of redemption, of healing. As she recounts her life with candor and engaging prose, Haskett opens a window to the divine and gives us hope.”

~ Margaret Buchanan (Parenting with Purpose, Baker Book House, 2004)

“Mary Haskett’s journey is one that none of us would choose! Her captivating account of it however sweeps the reader up in the experience, as her extraordinary ability to portray details engages all the senses. A surprising story, from life as an abandoned inter-racial child in an English convent to choices that marked the direction of her adult life, and the encounter with grace that shaped all that follows.”

~ Ethel Rowntree (Publisher & Editor of Beyond Ordinary Living)

“From the first page, you’ll be swept away on the incredible journey that has been Mary Haskett’s life. She shows us over and over how God sees and cares for his children—even when we think he is silent. Reverend Mother’s Daughter is a wonderful read. I know you’ll be blessed.”

~ Ginger Kolbaba (Desperate Pastors’ Wives; Editor of Marriage Partnership)
